A Ditch near Cree!
|
The 2011 theatre tour! It's happening all over again, the search for tunes, songs, recording them, thinking of stories to tell you, weaving plans for light and sound. Creation flutters like a drunk butterfly around our heads. We've had an amazing amount of bookings already, even by theatres who had us over last year, so that must mean something good...it's a lovely compliment. The website needed redoing and we had some lovely pictures taken during the last tour which will appear in the gallery. There's a few hundred of 'em so we still need to sort them into: good for web, and "maybe not so good and slightly embarrassing for web". One of them being us, outside, up to our thighs in a ditch full of murky water, in a storm which we sort of knew was coming. But we decided to defy the weather gods following that good old austrichy motto: "If I ignore it it isn't there!" Brave Siard even tried my haphazardly made bridge and immediately sank through it and into the black depths generously supplying his shoes and trousers with fresh cold water and the finest mud...We stayed out until we couldn't ignore the storm anymore, what with small farmyard animals starting to fly around and went back to Philips' for a nice cup of spiked hot chocolate.
A ditch in Belgium Well, it made for lots of wet pants and soppy shoes and a picture that actually really looks like fun, even with the splotches of rain on the lens. Apparently other people thought so as well and planted it in some of the theatre catalogues. Oh god..my hair...Eventually Evertjan and me decided to dig up his garden turf to get the official picture, which turned out weirdly well. Everytime we need new pictures there always seems to be some strange need for physical labour and us ending up digging up a forest, being blown off a dyke, trudging through a field for hours, or indeed sloshing around in a ditch... Anyway, "A Ditch near Cree , with it's new tunes and songs and new album is coming along gradually but surely and we can't wait to get on the road. Our technical crew is jumping on the spot anxious to get working with the new moving lights. The new album "A Ditch near Cree" will be finished this December. There will be a testrun in the first week of January 2011 and the show will open on the 14th of January 2011 in Theatre De Muzeval in Emmen. See you there! Annemarie
